Arch Manning AI Slap Controversy | Texas Longhorns Football News

Arch Manning’s viral reaction to an AI-generated video showing coach Steve Sarkisian slapping reporter Holly Rowe has ignited a firestorm, sparking calls for apologies from both parties and forcing the Texas QB — a top 2027 NFL Draft prospect — into the spotlight for reasons far beyond his on-field brilliance. The reporter who originally shared the clip, Evan Vieth, later apologized for calling Manning’s response “gold,” admitting he rushed the post without context and trivialized a depiction of violence. As of Tuesday, neither Manning nor the Texas program has officially commented, while Sarkisian’s earlier dismissal of Rowe after a big win over Ohio State added fuel to the controversy — a stark reminder of how fast digital drama can spiral in the age of AI and social media.
