This series is an immersive journey into the most pivotal year in Dominican history—the year that broke thirty-one years of absolute control and sparked a messy, heroic transition toward freedom.Archivo 1961 is a hybrid multimedia work that combines rigorous historical research with emotional storytelling. We document and resignify the explosive events of 1961: from the May 30th assassination of dictator Rafael Leónidas Trujillo to the brutal repression under his son, Ramfis, and the definitive military uprising of the Pilot Rebellion on November 19th.Through a blend of declassified official documents, rare audiovisual archives, and the "Living Voices" of those who resisted, we aim to preserve our collective memory and reflect on the true meaning of resistance and national identity.Join our mission to keep history alive.
