Arctic Life to Artistic Icon: Kenojuak Ashevak

This week, Stauney introduces us to the Inuit artist, Kenojuak Ashevak. Although there is little information on her life, it wasn't without struggles. Stauney and Sadie discuss how growing up in a tribe that has long been plagued by colonization, along with the struggles of disease and death, forged her artistic career in fire, and how she came out as the most influential Inuit artist, and a contemporary creator who is still widely praised today. This episode is shorter, but it will give you plenty of time to dive into the Inuit tribe, Ashevak's work, and much more!
