Are helmets safe? (EP85)

Earlier this week I saw a young man riding his bike with his helmet on and chin strap undone. As he road past me I thought to myself, "that is about as useless as trying to cut a tree down with a butter knife".Helmets have been around forever. As technology advances helmets become better. Unfortunately, amongst the great advancements there unfair claims made in the marketing of certain types of helmets.
