Are People Undeserving of God's Mercy?

Are we so prideful to think that we deserve God's love or mercy or grace? I pray not, because truly we would never had seen grace unless God brought him through the Jewish people who ultimately rebelled against their own messiah. God knew of this and planned accordingly, but such a thing will never mean we deserve God's blessings.
