January sales fell by 1.2% due to adverse weather conditions. Excluding auto sales, the increase was only 0.5%. Auto sales rose by 5.3%, electronics by 0.8%, and sporting goods by 2.4%. Analysts warn that the introduction of tariffs may reduce future sales as businesses face higher costs.
