One month after the first infestation was detected on a ranch in South Texas, the number of New World Screwworm cases has risen to nearly two dozen. The same pest cost the Texas cattle industry hundreds of millions of dollars in 1970s before it was eventually brought under control. A petition to reopen the Great Highway has gathered enough signatures to qualify for the November ballot. San Franciscans first voted to ban cars between Lincoln Way and Sloat Boulevard along Great Highway, turning it into Sunset Dunes Park in 2024. President Trump is Turkey for the NATO summit today. The president is touting the relationship he has with the Turkish President, saying he appreciates his relationship with Turkey more than the relations with traditional NATO allies, like France, Germany and Italy All of this and more, on this edition of the Bay Area All Local, hosted by KCBS Radio News Anchor Steve Scott.
