Are we also living in a Joshimath?

What happens if you get to know your city is sinking due to unplanned infrastructure? This happened in Joshimath, Uttarakhand in the first week of January when over 800 houses and several roads developed cracks as the land beneath the town continues to sink. As many as 200 families have been evacuated. It raises many questions - what is the ground reality? What are the ecological damages happening around the hills or even in cities? Will the government wake up after this tragedy? How will it affect people in the city?
