V. 30; “they shall see”, Indicative, future, middle voice Future – not just to see, but to truly know who it is! The Son of Man ‘coming’ (“erchomenon”; verb, singular, present tense, middle voice) m. V. 31; The Day of The Lord i. Read 1 Cor. 15: 20-28 ii. Read 1 Thess. 4: 14-18, 2 Thess. 2: 1-2 iii. Read 2 Thess. 1: 6-10 Is this not all the same event? All to be within the lifetime of that generation of Jews living in the first century A.D. Did Jesus get it wrong? Perish the thought! n. V. 32; The same point – the Apostles can recognize the nearness by the season they are in! o. V. 33; “thus also you” – near, it is at doors p. V. 34; This passage is the clearest time statement of the Parousia in the Scriptures! “This generation” (nominative, singular, feminine), thus men and women living in Jesus’ day (also stated in Mark 13: 29-30 & Luke 21: 31-32). Also, note the double negative which is used to describe what Jesus has said to the Apostles concerning the people of that day! q. V. 35; i. The heaven and the earth – shall pass away (indicative, future, middle voice) ii. But the words, my (not-not) shall pass away (subjunctive, aorist, active voice) Read Matt. 5: 17-18 (what time is this?), Isa. 1: 1-2, 2: 1-2
