Are You a Fan? | Get in the Game | Acts 2:14-21 | with Pastor Joshua Sanders

Around 19 million people attended an NFL game this past NFL season. The population of America is 331 million, and for the Super Bowl, the expectation is that around 200 million people will be tuning in to watch the big game. So, numerically, over half of the number of our population will be watching the game. Now, while millions and millions are fans of the NFL, only around 1,700 men actually played in the NFL this past season. And for all time, there have been less than 30,000 players to ever play in the NFL. Billions are fans, but only a few are actual players. And unfortunately, this is how it can be in the Church as well. According to “The Unstuck Group” and their research, only 45% of regular church attenders are serving their local church in any capacity. This number did not include kids. This number was regular church attending adults. Also, the sad reality is that according to Lifeway Research, only 3 in 10 unchurched Americans (29%) say a Christian has ever shared with them one-on-one how a person becomes a Christian. In this sermon, we dive into verses Acts 2:14-21 and learn a lot of truths through these Scriptures; we will see Peter begin preaching his first sermon after Pentecost, and we see that we are not called to just be fans on the sidelines like millions of us are with football... We are all called to GET AFTER IT and to GET IN THE GAME.
