Are You a Highchair Christian?

Highchair Christians attend church on Sunday, gobble up what the pastor feeds them in the sermon, go home, and do not spend time alone with God during the week: never learning how to feed themselves on God's Word, and engaging in one-to-one prayer with Him and worshipping Him.  Highchair Christians remain baby Christians, falling short of maturity in Christ. I point out that Jesus, in John 17:1-3, declared that eternal life is knowing God, and 1 John 5:11-13 tells us that if we have Jesus, received Him as Savior and Lord (are born again), we have eternal life: Now! In other words, maturing in the Christian faith is living in eternal life on earth and growing in the knowledge of God. It changes our affections, so we learn to love what God loves and hate what He hates: everything that falls short of His moral laws and creation ordinances of sexuality, gender, and marriage - and that takes spending alone time with Him and learning how to feed ourselves.  Email: [email protected]
