Are You Guilty? | Not Guilty | Acts 13:24-41 | w/ Joshua Sanders
from Christ Community Church (Brazil, IN) · host mycccbrazil
Have any of you been declared guilty for something that you did wrong? At the beginning of this sermon Pastor Joshua shares a funny story about one of his kids being declared guilty for something that they did. And while that story is funny, here’s the truth: in the courtroom of heaven, we’re all like his kid that shall remain nameless. The evidence of our guilt is overwhelming, and no amount of excuses, hiding, or pretending can change it. Our sin leaves us condemned before a holy God. But there is a way for us to be declared as "not guilty!" This is what the Bible calls justification. It’s the greatest gift you’ll ever receive, and it’s at the heart of our passage in this sermon. We’re in Acts 13, where Paul is preaching in a synagogue in Pisidian Antioch. He’s walked his audience through the history of God’s promises to Israel, showing how everything pointed to Jesus. And now in verses 24-41, he reaches the climax of his message, explaining that Jesus offers forgiveness and justification—something the law could never provide. In this sermon we dive into this text and explore what it means to be declared “not guilty” through Christ.
