Are You Living Like the Main Character? | Unchanging Center | Acts 13:13-23 | w/ Joshua Sanders
from Christ Community Church (Brazil, IN) · host mycccbrazil
Have you ever noticed how easy it is to think we’re the center of the universe? It’s natural, really. According to a study from Harvard University, people spend about 60% of their conversations talking about themselves. And on social media? We’re not just catching up with friends; Next Generation for Christ notes that around 80% of posts are about our own experiences or opinions. If we’re honest.... Most of the time, WE are our own favorite subject. This mindset starts young. Think of a small child who believes the world revolves around them. When they’re hungry, they expect food now, regardless of what’s happening around them. If they wake up in the middle of the night, they assume everyone else should be awake too. Children grow up with this natural tendency to see themselves as the center of everything. And while we might outgrow some behaviors, that sense of self-centeredness often lingers into adulthood. And in this sermon, we continue studying Acts 13. We go from verse 13 to verse 23. In this passage, we see Paul deliver a message that challenges this idea head-on. He tells his listeners that the true center of everything—the heart of God’s plan—isn’t you or anyone else you know... It’s Jesus.
