Are You Willing to Sacrifice? | Costly Sacrifice | Acts 14:1-20 | w/ Joshua Sanders
from Christ Community Church (Brazil, IN) · host mycccbrazil
Have you ever had a day where everything seemed to go off the rails because someone needed your help? A day where you didn’t have the time, but you gave it anyway because you knew it mattered? In these moments, we have to be willing to sacrifice to help someone in need. And you see, sacrifice costs us something—time, energy, comfort. It’s not always easy. And here’s the thing: we don’t like to sacrifice. If we’re honest, we prefer convenience over cost. We want to make a difference in the world, but we’d rather it happen without disrupting our schedules, draining our energy, or stretching our wallets. Sacrifice feels unnatural because it demands something from us—it’s giving without expecting anything in return. But the reality is that every great mission requires sacrifice. The mission of the Church is no different. If we want to reach people with the Gospel, it will cost us something. It always has. From the earliest days of the Church, believers have sacrificed their time, comfort, and even their lives to carry the message of Jesus to those who need it. In this sermon, we will look at Acts 14:1-20, where Paul and Barnabas show us just how much sacrifice is required to fulfill God’s mission. They faced opposition, misunderstanding, and even physical danger, but they pressed on because they believed the Gospel was worth it.
