In the dead of night as people sleep, that is when the spirits creep. As the bell tolls three dark things take power, we like to call it the Supernatural Hour. Hey, welcome to the Supernatural Hour. This is your host, Jason.
This is Chad. This is Moon. And... Oh, yep.
You're good. I was just gonna say we have a special guest with us and it's Aurora. She's so excited. Yeah, I got you off.
I'm so excited. I know, I'm okay. So we are gonna chat with her in just a minute. So Castle Photo Art is one of our sponsors today.
He is going to be doing graduation pictures for Raven this week. We're excited about that. Yes, Friday. Friday.
Raven is graduating from the U. We're excited. So go to Castle for your photo art needs, graduation picture needs, wedding picture needs, family picture needs, any of that kind of stuff. He also does fine art.
Go out and take a look at his website for wildlife photography. He's good at that too. Yep. So we are working on our next investigation.
We literally just went to Fort Douglas Friday night, then today's Monday. So we haven't even had, I have my last final today. So we'll jump in to get our new investigation. Hopefully we've got it up pretty soon.
The day we're looking for is kind of May 24th-ish area. We don't have a date specifically because we don't have the venue specifically. But that's kind of the target weekend that we're looking at. Yeah.
So kind of penciling that weekend that Friday and or not and but... Or Saturday. Or the Saturday. It'll be one of those days because of the venue too, what they have available.
But the where we will look at that. That's the way we will look at that. And we'll have a little chat about our patrons. We love you.
You guys are amazing. And we want to have more amazing patrons. So we have in the works a little package we're going to put together. And for new patrons that sign up after you've been with us for four months at another level or higher, we are going to send you a package in the care package.
I don't know if the care package is a right word. A goody basket. It's going to have some good hunting equipment in it and some swag and all sorts of fun stuff. So maybe I can send you my flashcards from Arabic because I don't know.
I don't need them anymore. Yeah, if you want some old battered flashcards. Just kidding. It will be cool stuff.
Maybe we can get them to throw in some stickers or something. I don't know. We'll figure it out. I'm going to say something.
I just said all donate. Yeah. So, it will be cool. And so if you're not a patron yet, there's all sorts of other works you get as a patron.
So if you haven't signed up yet, not only do you get the regular stuff, but you're going to get this extra cool swag. I need to come up with a cool name for it actually. And you get to come to the summer shindig. Yes, you do.
Which we already have booked for this year. So we're talking about that. And that date is August 23rd. Yes.
And that's all you booked. Yeah. When I got home from school today, I got all the flashcards that I will never use and threw them away. Literally threw them away.
If I need that word later, I'll just look it up on Google Translate. I'm keeping all the words that I actually will use. But I put a book, a reading, I actually put two reading books on this. I'm going to go to the first one.
One is go since springtime, which we're going to read and do kind of a May book review. I'm on one of our podcasts. It's a pretty short read. It's on my nice stand.
So I can see it from here, but I can't get it. There's not very many pages. Pretty big print. So if you're listening to that and you want to get in on that book review, and you want to be on the podcast and talk about it, send us an email at at dot wisps.contact at gmail.
And we'll get you in on the on the podcast. We can chat about that. Enough about our business. Let's turn the time over to mail.
That sounds so formal. Let us turn the time over to Aurora. Tell us a little bit about you and how you like going into go to hunting and all that good stuff. Okay, so my first paranormal experience happened when I was about four years old, and it was a shadow figure.
And so I feel like as most people in the paranormal field, you just, you know, weird things kind of happen to your whole life. I've seen full body operations. I've had just honestly a lot of different experiences throughout my life. Ex-boyfriends that were haunted, to be honest, and just a lot of different things.
I know. Lots of stories about that one that we won't get into today. But to somewhat like, you know, your dreams coming to life or, you know, or you have little visions or premonitions that happen and are accurate. And then obviously just watching every single paranormal show that, you know, will come on TV.
So that's kind of, you know, where I got into it and just things that have happened in my life. You know, you just want answers too. So that's going to it. So how did you find out about us?
You know, it was one of those things where I wanted to do more things than just like the typical Halloween on the house. So I wanted to do something and I got online and I think you guys were just posted on an events website that I saw and I said, why not? And I booked it. I believe Moon was my first.
Yes, May I? And I literally went in with like nothing, no equipment or anything. I just wanted to check it out. I just wanted to see it.
I believe it was Petitney. It was the Petitney Museum, a little over a year ago. So, and I checked it out and, you know, I kind of got addicted. You guys were all just amazing.
And like, I'm coming back for more. We paid her to say that, but thank you. You guys are great. I tried to make every event that I could after that.
So you can't get rid of me. So do you have a favorite piece of equipment? It can be one that you own or one that you want to own? Sure.
No, I mean, because it's like, I think it's a little taboo. I think we're all here with it, but there's a lot of us that are on the team and I'm all about the scientific group and making sure things are in electronics. But I go to my dows and rods a lot as a empath and having a little bit of a medium talent and sensitive. I love to connect with my spirit guide and have them help me along the way and everything, especially the ghosts are a little shy and they don't want to like participate.
Sometimes I can whip them out and get some answers. But I do have a little wish list. I recently watched something and there's an EMF trip wire that I'm going to hopefully get very soon. It's basically just a big cord with lights on it that you can spread out either around you in a circle or just across the room and then you can locate them a lot easier.
So that's on my wish list and I'm hopefully going to get in a month or two. I think that's super cool. So we'll go try it. I don't think anybody's used one yet.
I'm super curious. I don't think I've even heard about it. I think I might wish. I want to get a paranormal bell so I'm going to have to hit up with people who's not busy and say if they'll build me a bell.
And he'll find a bell box. Actually, he'll find a cool bell box. Alright and then to date, what do you think your favorite paranormal experience has been? Or one that stood out?
With the team? Anytime. Right. No, it's okay.
I mean, again, there's lots of stories. But I think we kind of rushed over it quickly. But I remember when we were, I was with Moon again and Moon, you've got your little box that plays the Ghostbusters. Yeah, and we were sitting there and somebody else had a spirit box.
And we were waiting for it was at your MPOT or what it like and we were waiting for it to play or something to set it off. But then all of a sudden, through the spirit box, it starts playing the Ghostbusters name like kind of like it was like laughing at us. Like it was like a joke. Like it was really funny because we were like, why is it playing?
They were a completely different device. Like it's just an estimate of us and and that was yeah. That was a huge. It was yeah.
Very cheeky. Very cheeky. And I thought that was just like, okay. Yeah, that was a good time.
Well, that sounds like fun. All right. Well, you're definitely going to hear more from Mel. We're going to talk about our investigation for Douglas a little bit later.
And then we hope that you have time to jump on with us again. But now we are going to talk about Area 51. Area 51 is brought to you by Opeo's. It's been a long time since we've eaten there.
We need to now that I have time again, I don't have to spend every evening of my life studying. You should go out to eat again. Yeah, it's delicious. It really is.
We need to do a team thing there. Yes, we do. Yes, we do. Because this team likes good food and potatoes is really good food.
We've actually talked to him about doing like a team slash Patreon dinner and show kind of thing at his restaurant. So if that is another little tea tree on Patreon, yeah, absolutely. But we need to talk about that before we do it. So Area 51, this is the place actually it's not too far away from us.
It's only 83 miles northwest of Las Vegas, which for us here in Utah is only that would be what maybe a six hour drive. That's not bad. It's closer than Denver. I've driven Denver.
But this is some place I would like to go and we can't go to Area 51. You can't get too close because the military gets all excited about it. But there is a little town next to it called Rachel. So we could go to Rachel and then see how close would you get to Area 51?
Is Rachel where the clan motel is? I don't know. Oh yeah, there's a clan motel out there. No, I know there's a clan motel.
I just don't know if it's in Rachel. I think it's in Rachel. It's close to Area 51. I'll take a look at it.
A ton of pop. A ton of pop. Okay, and that's close too. So anyway, but I think as everyone knows, Area 51 is kind of the common name of a highly classified United States Air Force facility.
It's actually within the Nevada Test and Training Range. It's officially called Home Air Force, which I did not know, or Grumlich. And Grumlich is actually the name of the salt flat that's next to the air field. But I think everyone knows this area 51.
If you had told me, would a homie Air Force or Grumlich have been like, what? But the details of its operations aren't made public. I think everyone knows that. But the United States Air Force says that it's an open training range.
It's commonly thought to support development of testing of experimental aircraft, weapons systems, things like that. The Air Force and the CAA acquired the site in 1955, primarily for flight testing of the Lockheed UJ aircraft. I think everyone commonly knows Area 51 as the place where the Air Force and the United States government holds and tests the aliens. I think everyone knows about that part of it.
Right? Anybody? Big shocker there. One of the reasons.
Well, that documentary Independence Day with Will Smith. Absolutely. In documentary. Because of the secrecy, and I don't get why, maybe it's just because we're at that, because I think all military bases are pretty secret.
But the secrecy surrounding this base hasn't made it very popular for conspiracy theories, especially around U.S. and aliens. It's never been clear to secret base, but everything that happens there is top secret. Yeah, they're all other programs.
Things like the SR-71 Blackbird was developed and flown out of there and research. A lot of the experimental planes are done there. It's just so far away from everything else. And then they fly a lot at night and so you don't see things.
But no, it's where a lot of the experimental planes are developed. Oh, yeah. And so I think, you know, my personal opinion is that a lot of that is, you know, a lot of the phones are just experimental and military stuff. But the CAA, I didn't realize this.
The CAA publicly acknowledged the base's existence on June 25th of 2013, which was not that long ago. I think we all knew what was there, but they didn't announce it. And that was because the request filed in 2005 to classify documents dealing in history and purpose called the Freedom of Information Act. So they just say that because the popular tourist destination obviously which includes a tenet per ritual and it's called the Extra-Trestrial Highway.
So that is what we're going to chat about a little bit. So, Chad, what do you know about the Freedom of Information Act? So if you don't know, Chad very well, politics is his thing. We live in breathe politics here.
The Freedom of Information Act was put in, and I don't know exactly what it's, but it's, when people have questions about government and different things that are going on, they can file to get that information released. And it goes through a lot of different reviews. But if there's not a national security reason not to release it, they will get a lot of that stuff out. Now, they will, you know, keep things that they feel is national security and those kinds of things.
But the Freedom of Information Act is really a legal, proceeding court document kind of thing where you can get information. I mean, literally that's what it is. Information that is publicly, you know, I mean, government information that they can be required to share. Cool.
Yeah, I wish they would tell us if there were aliens there or not. Anyway, sorry. I think that would be one of those things they won't tell you. Sorry, I didn't mean to cut you off.
Well, pop culture can speculate and that's what I'm going to talk about. So, Area 51 has a huge presence in pop culture. It's often portrayed as secretive US military base tied to UFOs, aliens, and conspiracy theories. So, it became pretty popular after the 1947 Roswell incident, which is it's claimed a flying saucer crashed into New Mexico, which I think there were a bunch of witnesses to that.
That's when the rumors of US government coverups began. So, although Roswell is geographically separate from Nevada, where Area 51 is, Area 51 became a symbol of hidden alien technology by the 1980s and 90s. So, we kind of touched base on one of the movies, which I loved. My favorite alien movie, Independence Day.
I watched that in the theaters in 1996, which was pretty young, but it was awesome. I hope a lot of you got to experience that on the big screen. It's actually one of my favorite movies. It's so good.
I watched it probably like three or four months ago, so I got a refresher too. So, it shows UFOs invading the world, and Will Smith was a captain in the military and encountered an alien spacecraft, which he caused the crash, and then he'd direct a nasty alien to Area 51, which housed the alien spacecraft and alien bodies. So, y'all go watch that again and get an extra 90 minute. I can't stand him.
So, I don't want to mention him because I don't like him. He's so bad in Jurassic Park. He's just the annoying science guy that's just like, oh my gosh, stop talking. That was kind of back in his hot era.
Never. Never, never, ever, ever. I never got on that ship, but that's an alien ship to me. Okay, now I thought Jeff Goldblum was going to creep in fly, but that's because he turned into a fly, which is going to creep in.
If it's his personality, I think so. Oh, you're a hater. That's okay. That's okay.
It's all right. Okay, here we go. Okay, wait a minute before we move on. Aurora, are you on Team Will Smith or are you on Team Jeff Goldblum?
Oh, why do we have to pick teams? You can have both. I was like, I don't want to pick. I actually, I think they're all great.
Yeah, Will Smith had some great one-liners in that movie. Will Smith was a fantastic actor. He's amazing. Yeah.
I thought they had really good chemistry too. You know, when they're both on the alien ship at the very end and I thought they were both great. So that's why I'm picking teams. How do you feel, Chad?
I liked Will Smith when he punched the alien when it was doing the things. The alien gets up and he starts cussing out of him and starts thumping on him. I thought that was pretty good. Because the alien was just not flats too.
They're just filming it in the salt flats. That's here in Utah, where they filmed it. Yeah, the alien was stinky and he was mad at him. Yes.
Okay, so there's another movie called Paul from 2011 that features a captured alien escaping from Area 51. And if there are any Indiana Jones fans out there, there's Indiana Jones in the Kingdom of the Crystal School from 2008, which has a scene set at Area 51 with a warehouse of paranormal artifacts. And if I sound stuffy, because I am, because I think I sound not very good right now. You sound beautiful.
Beautiful. That's like the nicest thing I've ever heard. I know. Beautiful.
Okay, so there are some TV shows, which if you've listened before, one of my favorites is X-Files, which heavily references Area 51 as a center of alien coverups from the government. And if you like the comedy, Futurama, and the Simpsons, parody, Area 51 often. Stargate SG-1 uses Area 51 as a storage facility for Alien Tech. And there are even video games named Area 51.
So the 1995 version is an arcade shooter, and then there's a 2005 version on the console FPS, which directly setters on an alien outbreak at the base. There's funny. This is funny. I thought it was funny.
There have been memes and internet culture on it. So in 2019, the Storm Area 51, they can't stop all of us. Facebook event went viral and jokingly suggesting people rush the base to see them aliens. Millions are SPP'd while it started as a meme.
It led to actual festivals and gatherings nearby. Did you guys ever hear about that? Oh, yeah. Yeah.
I don't think anybody really actually rushed the gate because I really don't think anybody wanted to get shot. Yeah. Because it is an area that they will shoot to kill from. No, you don't go in areas to steal.
Just an rush. But a couple of people don't know about it. They came and they, like you say, had festivals and they met. But yeah, I think, thank goodness, they were smart enough not to rush the gates.
Right. There has even been music on the topic. Fans like Blink 182, whose singer Tom DeLong is involved in UFO research, often references Area 51 and extra terrestrials in his work. So that is that for pop culture.
I do have a little more on the Freedom of Information Act. You can actually find out all of the procedures around doing a Freedom of Information Act process at www.foya.foya, freedom of information. Guff. So that's www.foya.gov.
And there's a whole website about it and how to get that. If you're trying to research anything and get information out of the government like, are there really aliens at Area 51? Very good. So, you know, because the government came out, you know, and said, you know, basically, this is actually a base.
And people have known about it for years, but it's just never been publicly acknowledged by the government. It says that, you know, nature creates a vacuum. And when the government says there's not, you know, alien activity going on, obviously it's going to definitely mean that there's alien activity going on. And people get so excited about that.
So if you go and look at some of the, I mean, you can go in and there's there's legit stuff they talk about, you know, the V21 Tag Board, the Ox Card program, the YouTube program. I mean, there's a lot of the V21 that we already said. That would be the U2 program, not the U2 program, right? Yes, U2 program.
Yeah, and that's not the band. That's not the band. That's the Skyplane from the 1960s. The predecessor of the Blackbird.
Yeah, so, it says during the Cold War, one of the missions that they had was they had a captured Soviet fighter aircraft. And in the late 60s for several decades. I mean, it was a 51-flight host on a assortment of Soviet aircraft that they would kind of reverse engineer and stuff like that. I mean, some legit stuff is going on there.
If you hop on the internet, you can find out all the actual F-17 program, you know, all sorts of things. But there are definitely some conspiracy theories there. I think everyone is more aware of conspiracy theories than what actually goes on there. And are there aliens there?
The government has never come out and said it. Are there aliens? That's a whole another podcast we could do. But here are some of the conspiracy theories that kind of circling around it.
A lot of the theories include the storage examination. And like we said earlier, you know, reverse engineering of not only Soviet things during the Cold War, but crashed alien spacecraft. They believe, a lot of people believe that there's actually material that was recovered at Roswell that's being stored in Area 51. And by material, occupants meaning aliens, and alien technology like spacecraft.
They believe that there are meetings and or joint undertakings with extraterrestrials. Some of the theories say that there's also a lot of exotic energy weapons for the strategic defense initiative or other weapons programs. Some of the theories also involve the idea of development of technology to control the weather, time travel and teleportation technology, and exotic propulsion systems. I read that verbatim because I thought it was interesting, exotic propulsion systems.
So, you know, when you say propulsion systems, I think we're trying to work right from the project. So maybe there's maybe there's anything that enterprise there. I've shared this before. And when you get into the the planes, it was in the late 80s or the really early 90s.
I was coming back from California and what ended up being a couple of the either the stealth fighters or just a couple of the B2 stealth bombers flew over. And this was before they were there. I was kind of in an area down in the Las Vegas area. And it was like, okay.
And so, you know, that's the advanced development of planes. And now that's 20, 30 years old on those planes. But they're talking about that new F-47 plane that's in development. And that would be where that would be being tested and developed would be into Harry 51, those kind of places where you do that top secret development.
They're also doing a lot of drones and those kinds of things, the stealth drones and the planes that, you know, autonomous planes that don't have to have pilots that are done with AI and then, you know, as part of drone planes with fighters. It's really some pretty neat technology. So, one of my favorite theories, they talk about a transcotenable underground railroad system. And I don't doubt that there's some underground things there, but a whole transcotenable railroad system would be cool.
They also claim that there is a disappearing airstrip, nicknamed the Cheshire, airstrip after the Cheshire cat in Alsomonduland. And they say that it appears briefly if water is sprayed onto camouflage asphalt and it's engineering based on the alien technology. So, that would be cool to see if it was for real. It is on the desert, I just be rushed.
I don't know. So, one of the things that interests me is they say that, you know, Area 51 is not the official name of it, but I think that's what everybody calls it. You guys know of the other names where you guys are aware of those other ones. I knew of Room Lake.
I was unaware of all of them. And I think most people, if you were to say, hey, what's the name of the super secret alien spy base, people are going to say Roswell and Area 51, right? But a lot of people have wondered, you know, where did the name Area 51 come from? And if it's really a name that the government's just kind of keeping hushash, where are the other areas?
Where's Area 1, 2, 3? If you think about it, Area 51, there's 50 states and the district of Columbia is their secret, you know, an area something in every state. And the speculation that ours is Doug way here in Utah, because you've got that. Yeah, we know about it, but it's we know about it because they blow stuff up often and we can feel it and still, yeah, right?
And without, yes, and without fail, as soon as you start here, the room is and they post it. They make an announcement. They make, you know, Facebook post it, say, hey, we'll blow stuff up this weekend. Without fail, you'll get people.
My house is shaking. What's going on? It's like, it's just Doug way they blow stuff up. Just Doug way.
Just Doug way. Good old Doug way. So when it comes to Area 51, just in general, what are your guys' thoughts? What, what, what am I interesting?
As you were kind of researching for the podcast, did you find out anything new? It is so secretive. It's hard to say, you know, there's not a lot that's going to pop up. I will say however, right after you gave me the topic, because our phones have FBI agents and let me know, immediately, that they popped up about Area 51.
I wasn't even looking for it. It was funny because it literally did. I was like, oh my gosh, they're listening. I'm reading my text messages because apparently fairly recent, fairly recently there was, I mean, again, you know, conspiracy, I guess, and everything.
There was a glitch in the Google map tech where it actually showed additional things on the base, like kind of like what you were talking about, I guess, where things like if you get water on it, maybe it'll appear. And they say that people were able to screenshot, well, look like a tower or something. So some people think it's like, you know, just like a aviation type of tower or other say, it's like an obelisk that like showed up. It's like a triangle and it was tall and it just showed up on the base and you can't normally see it.
Again, I don't know. They're like, you can't see it, but there was some kind of glitch that exposed more of the base, supposedly, and people were able to see more. But I'm like, are people just watching Area 51 at all times? Like how do you catch a glitch on Google map?
Well, I did mean something that says on Company 18, you couldn't even view satellite images of Area 51. Yeah, like, blacked out like stomach. Yeah, but now you can know that I know so. And I do know that it's heavily, heavily guarded, but you know, you figure out that there's aliens there or just, you know, military secrets.
Military secrets, of course, it's going to be highly, highly guarded. Well, in X files, my knowledge comes from pop culture clearly, but in X files, there are those guys like Mulder's friends are like aware of everything and all these things. So I'm sure there are people out there that are like really obsessed with like learning that kind of stuff. And I believe they are watching.
You know what? So I used to work as a assistant to the astronomy teacher when I was down at college in SUU. After high school, you're supposed to go to college. No, you're old.
And my job, I was the astronomy lab director. And so there's another girl and I went to go out and we ran the observatory. They had a great observatory with the dome and a great big, I think it was a 14-inch telescope, but it doesn't sound big, but it actually is quite large. And I saw some things that I couldn't explain.
That means that Cedar City is very close to the NLS Air Force Base. They actually, the NLS Air Force Base actually used SUU's, what did I just call it? My word observatory. That's a right.
That's a right. That's a right. That's just one way they actually used the observatory as one of the things that they would practice shoot. And when the professor told us that I thought, I hope when they practice shoot it, they don't actually have ammunition because I don't get blown up.
But I didn't actually get blown up. So you know, there's a lot of things and I would ask myself, is that a UFO? I mean, obviously it's a UFO. And I didn't know what it was.
So I didn't know what it was. But as I looked at it, I thought, is that something that nobody knows what it is? Or is that something from NLS that's doing something? No, no.
I'm not sure to say. I know that like too. There's just so much that goes on here. I know.
I mean, if you guys watch the skinwalker ranch and the Black Hawk helicopters that go over them a lot, they apparently come right out of Sandy. And there was just the other day I was driving up Point in the mountain and there was full on Black Hawk helicopters flying. And I like to do night walks. I like to walk at night.
You see a lot of weird things when you walk at night. So I mean, I know they like to call them UAPs now, unidentified aerial phenomena and everything as well, because there are so many different types of UAPs that you can see. Like they've got like jellyfish types now and all sorts of things. But if you do, if you walk at night, you're gonna see a lot of things in the sky.
But I've seen UAPs during the day. There's just a lot of weird things up in the Utah sky. And you know, you gotta be careful because they're satellites. There's satellites.
There's planes. There's animals up there. But there's drones. There's just so much.
I mean, yeah, when I worked at the observatory, I was always in the camp in the sky. There was a time where I could tell you every single constellation up there and I could tell you when those constelles were rising. I could see two stars that were rising. Oh, that's this constellation.
Because I was constantly looking at this guy. And yeah, that's not something that I could not explain. So if you are on the west coast of the United States and you're coming to Area 51 from the west, Baker-Calph, Hornia is known as the gateway to Area 51. And they've got a lot of alien stuff there.
And so there's just a lot of things in that area. You can go visit and see. And what are your overall fields on aliens in Area 51? Well, I definitely think there is an Area 51.
As I've become more observant and out later at night, ghost setting. Like me and Whiskey have seen some weird stuff. He lives by the mountain. And there's just weird, weird stuff happening over there all the time.
We've talked about it on other podcasts. But like my mom told me this story about my grandpa seeing a giant orange sphere that was silent. And it came real close up to him and then it floated away. And it was just dead silent.
And so I've always believed in that kind of stuff. And I also remember like believing as a small child. I was at my friend's house next door. And I remember running home a lot when it's dark because I was afraid I was going to get sucked up by an alien.
So I've believed in it for a long time. Or maybe nervous about it for a long time, I guess. I don't know for sure. But like, I'm definitely open-minded about it.
I think in general, I believe in aliens. And some of that is just my religious beliefs. My religious beliefs say that there are worlds of that number out there that were not the only planet with human beings on it. That being said, I don't know that they necessarily come to visit us.
So... Space is really, really big. So I mean, in that case, we would technically be aliens for them. So we are also aliens.
I don't believe aliens can get into the pyramids. I think that's just, people don't understand them. They have to invent a way. And I'm not thinking I don't do that.
I don't understand them. I try to figure it out. My theory might not always be right. So I'm not looking down.
They try to explain something. They don't understand how the pyramids could be built. They came in from that time period. And so they come up with the best, you know, that's the whole scientific theory.
They come up with a theory. And some of them stick with that. So... There are some interesting things along those lines though with some of the different etchings in the different places like in South America and Egypt and in the Assyrian and Sumerian things where they've got like bird-headed entities and they've got like these...
They almost look like a purse. And it's really interesting. Different cultures have developed common kinds of themes with, you know, thousands of miles, differences in places near the same periods with some of the same kinds of themes. And is that just, you know, that things can be developed independently in different places and coincidence?
Or is there a common theme of some kind or something that is inspiring that in all of these different cultures? So that gets really interesting because it's hard to say, you know, was there actual cultural overlap or was that something else? So I find those, I find those shows quite interesting. I'm a little more of not so much of extraterrestrial entities because of the vastness of space.
You know, when you talk about hundreds of light years, I mean, we're four light years from Alpha Centauri and that's traveling at the speed of light. And if you're not even there, it takes hundreds of thousands, not thousands of years with our current technology to get there. And so with the vastness of space and the different things of those and the time, you know, unless you do something like a warp drive or something that is well beyond our capabilities now, which could be possible. But the other one that I look at is could just be interdimensional.
Because these beings not be in a different dimension in the same space we are. It's not necessarily a distance there, but there's something where UFOs are interdimensional and not necessarily extraterrestrial. So have you guys heard of the astronaut carving on the Cathedral in Spain? And they say, oh, there's proof that there was, you know, aliens because there's an astronaut and they carved it on the on the Cathedral in Spain in the 1600s when, you know, before astronauts were around.
And that's actually been debunked. It was carved in stone on the, as you know, I'm just butchering the Sananta Cathedral. They say it was added during renovations in 1992, kind of was a homage to, you know, the 20th century. So, you know, I think it's really easy with, I love the internet, excuse me, but I think it's easy to get caught up in some conspiracy theories that make it, ooh, look at this, be kind of got a bit deeper.
So that even though the Cathedral itself was carved between the 1500s and 1700s, I think like 1512 to 1733, there happened things added later. So. And there are people out there with the internet that just enjoy spoofing people. You know, putting out false information and putting out things.
Just, you know, and I'll go with the flat earth theory kinds of things. I mean, it's, you know, for me, I can't imagine there's just way too much evidence that the earth is round that, you know, and yet I don't know if you've got people that they believe there's a flat earth or if they're just in the, in the group and they're having fun with it, but things like that. But there's people that leave all sorts of things. All right.
Well, I think Area 51 is just fascinating. And that is someplace that I would still like to go to and go to rape show and, and buy an alien head mug or something. It is kind of, it is kind of an, and I do, and I'm glad you brought it, the movie in Penn State, because that's one of my favorite movies, not to watch that. We can have the study every night.
Exactly. All right. So whiskey and Velma were not able to make it tonight. So we will hear from them next time.
So we will just jump right to the junk drawer. Unless actually, Moon, do you know any new things from the Whiskey Moon laboratories? Let's see. I mean, we have been working on things.
We got a few new items. Like we got this cute little ghosty necklace that we were selling at her booth at Fort Douglas. And sadly, we had our first thief that hijacked one of those. So don't do that.
Be good people. Okay. Um, as far as whiskey's lab, I, I'm not aware of anything that he's working on in particular right now, but I know he's super busy right now with that just stuff. He's busy, but he also likes to surprise me.
So sometimes I just get surprises. So, um, yeah, we're having fun. He's, he's looked at new equipment to possibly sell you guys for a great price. So I'll let him talk about that next time.
Perfect. All right. So we will just jump right to the junk drawer, which is sponsored by Huey's Performing Arts and Cultural Events Center, also known as Pace and Check them out. They've got karaoke, they've got standup comedy, they've got a bunch of different stuff going on.
Story telling, stuff you're looking for something to do, jump over to their website and see what's going on. So, um, this is something I kind of wanted to say for October about, October seems like it's really, really far away. So I'm just gonna do a couple of it now because it's hilarious. So, um, have you ever been to not like an actual haunted house?
Who likes the place that we take you or your own house, but you know, like the haunted house that you pay for? Or Indian Hills Horror, which is a free house, which is fantastic. If you haven't been to it, put it on your calendar for Halloween time this year. But I found an article that just talks about, um, there's just a couple of files, stories that people that work in these haunted houses have passed on.
So, um, some of them are, some of them are kind of funny, some of them are kind of sweet. We're gonna start off with this week one. And this is by a guy named Kelly, um, Wysinger, and she worked at Spooky World Nightmare in New England, she worked here for five years. And she worked at the haunted house for 16 years.
And she said a couple of years ago, she saw a man that opposed to his nafiancy. He had actually asked her and all of her co-workers, um, that work in the Midway, which was kind of the space outside the haunts, um, you know, kind of like entertainment while you're waiting to go in. Um, and he asked them for help. So, they pulled him out of the line and pretended to throw him to the ground and they surrounded him in a circle so that no one could see him.
And, you know, everyone's thinking that's great. He was part of the show, they're kind of getting into it. And then when they stepped back, he was down on one knee with her. Um, she said yes, and they had a fun time.
So, it's not a time, it's gonna be spooky, but they can be machine, because she too. Romantic. Who knew? Um, so this one is by a guy named Bob Davis, and she worked at a haunted house called Fierfield of Horrors.
And she said her second year in the field, she was in this slanted shack with three others, uh, playing kind of monic with sex girls. And someone dropped their hat on the field. So, um, he and his group of friends had to wait in the scene while someone got there. And she said they had a lot of fun tormenting them, telling them they were gonna roast them like marshmallows.
Um, and they demonstrated by holding dolls over the fire and they played ring around the rosy around the cringynd, you know, around the group and the group was all kind of cringing. And she said that the third year they wanted rosesting on the field because they were voodoo cannibals. Um, they would rip off the victims, and he'd air quote's head, and they would eat the intestines and someone said, what does she have in her mouth? Um, and she said she went through your hearsels with her one year old son and he loved it, which is a little disturbing, but I just think that would be fun to be in a haunted house and just really have fun.
And, um, and have some fun with this. Um, but you know, and some of these stories are, um, you know, kind of things that are typical, but some of these are kind of funny. So, a young thing, Tara Anderson was also working at Field of Horrors and she said sometimes the customers weren't always so easy this year. She said she had a little girl that was no older than Ava, that tried to have a staring contest with her and she says, you know, that she played along for a few minutes.
And the mom of the little girl who was clearly more scared than the daughters, it's not about having scary contests with a creepy crazy girl we need to get a little bit of. And, you know, Indian Hills Horror, that's one of the things I've known as two, I think you know, that oftentimes the kids are a lot more brave than the adults. I've got one to share from Indian Hills Horror, this was from a number of years back. Um, we were getting ready to close at the night and there was a young man that was bringing his, his girlfriend and she was probably 16 or 17.
He might have been 18, 20 and he was being all machismo and all, all tough and they started to the beginning and they went through a little graveyard part at first and he was kind of posturing and she was like a little scared. They went through this other area where there's these vines coming down and there was, you know, just some scary music and then they came to this area and it was actually my daughter in this coffin and she lifted up a thing and banged it and the kid just ran. He left the girl there and ran out of the house. She's sitting there looking at me like, now what?
But it was so funny because he was so posturing on how brave he was and when that casket went up and came down, he just ran. That's fantastic. She was ready for a new date then. Right.
So someone said they have embarrassing moments. One of them got stuck on the fence. She was trying to jump over the fence to scare someone and when she went to dump down her boot got caught in the fence and she landed face first on the ground and so everyone got a good laugh instead of a good scare. Um, there was one where it's a girl named Kristi.
She was in a scene acting as an insane little girl in a hospital and she had a little hospital gown and she carried around her ripped bloody teddy bear and she says people were always running away from her in fear. Um, and so you know she says as they run away she's seen them run in defenses. Well one year she accidentally smashed her face on the fence gave herself a bloody nose and she went into the make-up room you know take care of it and the artist said wow you're you want to make a part of this. Wow your makeup looks fantastic and she had explained that it was real and she needs some tissues.
But they had to like make it's great. Um, there was one girl her name is Angie Hanson and she worked at a haunted house called Blood Manor for four years. Um, and she said that their haunted is actually haunted. She says that she worked as a victim inside the more room and every day they would find props missing that would turn up in other rooms.
Um, there was a table that was extremely heavy. It was actually a real mortations table. It would be moved across the room. Um, glass bottles would break when no one was near them.
Doors would slam. Um, she said that she personally had an earring that had been missing for three years, um, that in a different room that appeared in the more where she was working. Um, she says one of the last nights of the season the lights in the room went haywire she'll be like, right? And the partner that was just laying on the table, uh, you running around is upsetting whatever spirit is here.
So as soon as she lay down on the table and her head of the cradle, the lights stopped and went, I don't know. So just kind of some fun, interesting things that happen in haunted houses. And if you want to go, if you want to go look at, um, last year's haunted house information on the Indian Hills Horse, still got the information up for the 2024, but there's the video from the 2023 and we'll soon have the 2024 video up. They've got that one done now.
Um, you can go out to advancedparanormal.com slash haunt and it'll pull up a page and there's YouTube videos there of the previous ones and they're, they're very well produced in their own. I enjoyed it. Okay. It's amazing.
Yeah. Yeah, it's, it's very very good. So we investigated Fort Douglas, um, just a couple days ago and it was super exciting because last year we actually had it scheduled and then when I called to, um, you know, just double check and make sure we were all on board, they had gotten some new management and they had to cancel everything that they had signed up and we were afraid that, that it was just no longer a venue that was going to be available. And then moon ran across something and we called right then and there in the middle, you know, appointment and lo and behold, they do offer ghost hunts and so we went, um, there's a lot of areas, a lot more areas we were able to get into than we have before, which was kind of exciting.
We were rooms there, I didn't know that they had before and we've been there. I don't know, maybe a dozen times, at least I have. So it was exciting to be able to have a northern investigation that's indoor so we can hit it up in the, when it's called because those kinds of investigations can be heard by sometimes. So, moon was there actually that a team, or led a team, led a team, whiskey could be here so next time Cass will hear about his experience but, um, let's start with you, how was your, what did you take at first, did your first time and then tell us a little bit about your experience?
Well, I was going up there whenever I've gone up to the hospitals up there, I just see the barracks. So I always just thought when Raven would be explaining to me about Fort Douglas, I thought it was in the barracks, I was wrong the whole time for several years. So it was a museum. So we, in all fairness, we say Fort Douglas, we should have specified the Fort Douglas military museum.
Yeah, because I also drove to the wrong location, but I found my way. I wasn't too late, so it was good. But yeah, the museum, first off, from what I saw like with the lights on, it was really, um, very interesting and intriguing and they have vehicles and choppers there, you know, in the back area. It was just, it was very fun and cool to look at and I would like to go in and read more all by myself without having me a ghost investigation, but, um, it, it was a nice big venue where we definitely got some activity.
First off, we went into the library area and we were getting some information on an ITC device, said they were a nun. So who knows, but that was kind of cool. I definitely felt like female vibes. It was not a very like bold presence, I guess.
Um, we got some cat balls going off, my, the spirit communication lights were going off a little bit. Um, then we went into the top of the museum and definitely some fills there. We had a little bit of REM pod activity going off. Um, I had a really awesome group and they were really fun.
Um, but the basement had, of the museum, had a lot of activity and my dead bell kept going off. So that was really exciting for that to be, um, doing its thing because it doesn't go off that often. So we had a really good time and one of the girls on my team, um, she took a selfie and she saw what she thought was like a spirit behind her, so she was very excited about that. Um, yeah, we had a really good time.
So come on by if you like to have a good time at the girls' hands. Aurora, how about your group? Awesome. Yeah, I had an amazing group too.
It was also my first time at Fort Douglas. So that was a lot of fun and like, Mayo and I kind of want to go back and actually read, look at all the displays thoroughly, um, get a little more history. Uh, we, a lot of the same things, I mean, we were getting K2 hits, cat balls were going off, we were getting, you know, words that would come off, you know, on different spirit boxes and ghost tubes. Um, one thing that I actually want to go back and another reason I want to look at displays, one kind of thing, I had a process that later, sometimes you don't have to like sleep and let dreams like translate like a day.
Um, I didn't notice it, I wanted to ask you guys if you had a similar experience, but um, in between locations, we were outside and outside area, and like Moon said, they've got like helicopters, cannons, memorial tape things out there. Um, we were actually picking up a different, uh, we got some interruption on my radio, just our radio is that we used to communicate. Um, and so we were picking up somebody else's, uh, you know, their channel as well, and we, we got some people speaking Spanish on it. So I don't know if it was construction or someplace, somewhere nearby, somebody else was, there was other radio chatter, but after that, my next location was inside the museum.
And once we got back in there, the words that started popping up were like, not from here and boat and like water. And then I got the name Juan three different times. And I'm just like, I wish I knew how to speak Spanish right now because I almost feel like where are you guys from? Because right after we got all these Spanish, you know, the Spanish chatter on the radio, we just started getting different types of Spanish words or, you know, they were talking about not being from here.
And we thought originally, I think our group was like, oh, the Navy, there's a Navy display, they must be talking about water and boat. But then it was like, wait, I think it has something to do with the interference that we got that where people were speaking Spanish. And I think it kind of activated it a little bit and they got curious. So I'm not sure I need to find out.
That is really neat. Um, back to what, um, Aurora was saying, we did get a lot of relevant words on ITC devices that, um, pertain to the military. So it was really cool, um, to hunt there and have it be you know, representing what is already there. And the words, the words make sense for where you're at.
Yes, correct. And so that's the perfect book. Like the pre-programmed common words that can show up in our devices, which can be frustrating sometimes. Exactly.
So my group, the interesting thing is when we, when we have one of these, we always ask, you know, who's been with us before and, um, you know, who hasn't, and, you know, who hasn't been ghost hunting before. And I think in general, this group had the largest percentage of people that never ghost hunting before. So my team was entirely people that, um, it was their first time. And when they started off- Or as we call them- Bait.
And it was kind of fun because I watched them being kind of timid and I don't know that, because I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm empathic as well. And a couple of the people that were in my group were actually on the front row was, that was giving the presentation where we talked a little bit about the history and then, you know, just investigating tips and some safety tips. And there's one couple that, um, I felt were not so much skeptical, but just kind of like, you know, we'll see what this is all about. It was kind of fun to watch this group, um, get more and more excited as the night went on.
We had, um, back in the library, I had two guys get scratched. And when you get paranormal scratches, they go away really quick. So I, you know, both of them at the same time said, I thought I was cut touched and they're both kind of touching. There's only other next.
And so I said, do you mind if I take pictures and you may not scratched? And they, they described it as kind of itchy feeling. And so I took pictures of both of them. Um, and when we got, you know, when you're taking these pictures, you're just, you're in the dark, you're trying to get a good picture of, of scratches, and, um, I posted them in our team page and Whiskey did say, you know, this one, one of them that looks like the scratches lined up with a couple of little divots in his, in his, um, shirt collar, and that's okay.
Um, but it was still in the same, you know, the same place where's like, oh, and they did it simultaneously. So I don't know. One of them was definitely scratches from the paranormal, in my opinion. The other one, you know, it's hard to say.
Um, but that, that was our second area, I think, and that got everybody fired up. Everybody, usually when I'm in a group, you know, people are nervous. They don't want to see what they're taking over. And I, you know, I told them, you know, this is, this is your deal.
If you have a question, you ask, you know, if you want something, you ask, and we were getting a lot of hits on, um, the flashlight's actually, I've got just the bag flashlights that you turn on. And usually when I put them out, spirits seem to be able to turn the green one on, a lot easier than the red one. I have a really hard time getting the first turn the red one on, but they were loving the red one. I don't part of us and the red one was just coming on, you know, going off all the time.
And it was really fun to see the people in my group started really getting into it. And every time the ideas machine would go off, you look at them, we got quite a few relevant things. And then we went down to the basement, which the last couple of times we've been there, we haven't been able to get into one of the, the main room, because they had full of stuff. And we were able to get in there again, and they were taking pictures at this point, they're like, yeah, they kind of started to wander off, which was fine.
I mean, they were, you know, I mean, they were within the same area, but it was fun to see them taking pictures and talking to each other. Look at this. Look at this. And not everybody might agree with each other.
And, you know, a lot of it works because it was dusty down there. And this is where I had to do a lot of talking off the ledge of, okay, that's dust. But it was fun to see them get excited, you know, into the ghost hunting. Other than the scratches, we just had kind of normal stuff.
We had stuff through the ITS machine. We had the red flash light go off. We had cat balls go off a couple times. We did ask a few questions here and there later on in the evening with your dancing rods.
It was, I think my favorite part of that investigation was watching new people just really embrace it and get excited about it. That was fun. Also, yeah, I asked a lot of people, you know, as they were coming through the lobby in different times and everybody seemed to have a really good time and really enjoyed it. We do, you know, our mission here is is paranormal entertainment and education.
So, yeah, so we do paranormal entertainment and education and I think a lot of people got the education and were entertained. It was a lot of fun. Yeah, and the people running for Douglas Museum are super nice and are really excited about the development of the museum and they've done a lot of cleaning and stuff. So it is really fun to go into different areas.
So shout out to them for being awesome. Yeah, and it's a free museum. I would encourage anybody that's in Salt Lake area, the Wasatch Front to go. They're open, I think Monday or Tuesday through Saturdays, I think from 10 until 5 or 6, you may want to check for sure.
They're not open on Mondays because Raven went to check with them and that was the day they were closed. She was going to get a walk through with them. But yeah, we really encourage you to go there for the history. It is a phenomenal museum.
