Speaking to Radio Tarana host Sanjesh Narain, Williams said people in her electorate were calling for change, although some remained undecided about which direction to take. She said Labour needed to clearly explain how its proposed cost-of-living measures would make a tangible difference to households. “It’s about telling people how it’s going to affect everyday lives,” Williams said. Williams also defended Labour’s banking policy, arguing that financial technology companies should be able to access real-time payments safely, allowing customers to benefit from faster and more efficient transactions. On law and order, she said Labour was focused on preventing crime before it happens, highlighting the importance of addressing problems before they lead to offending. Williams said the party’s approach was centred on practical solutions to the issues affecting people and families in their daily lives.
