Arguing with a Coffee-Maker

Send us Fan Mail This is episode 177 (The Arrogant Coffee-Machine) of Celebrate Poe. Unlike the more recent podcasts of Celebrate Poe (or AI Poetalk,) George does not use ChatGPT to “communicate” with the persona of Edgar Allan Poe, but uses Microsoft Bing - to very disappointing results. It is interesting to compare the user-friendly, knowledgeable style of ChatGPT to the “arrogant” and “user-unfriendly” output from Bing. So listen to this episode for a gradually frustrating (but very informative) experience regarding Poe. 00:00 Intro 05:53 Poe begins to make up supporting information 09:31 AI Poe makes up more “phony information” in “The Cask of Amontillado and "The Murderers in the Rue Morgue” 13:16 AI Poe on “The Conqueror Worm” 17:33 AI Poe (in Bing) balks 19:35 Imagined life at Stoke Newington 23:17 AI Poe “prefers not to continue this conversation” 24:40 Bing’s Poe refuses to list its sources and rambles Conclusions Sources Outro Support the show Thank you for experiencing Celebrate Creativity.
