Aria Short: Willy

from Aria Broadcasting · host Aria Broadcasting

Aria Short: Willy I met Willy on the corner of State and Madison; he sat in his wheelchair with a red cup in his hand shaking not only in request for money but also from the aching cold that hurts the bones. I approached him placed some change in his cup and asked how his day was going. He looked up said “Thank you” and explained that it was going like most, “just living of the generosity of others” he said. Willy had the look of a man who had been through a lot but who fought on with no chip on his shoulder. I was intrigued; I felt that a person who continues to fight on in such tough conditions must have a passion so I asked Willy what in life made him the happiest.
