Arizona Athletics Rewarded for Excellence

Arizona athletics just had a historic year, with coaches rewarded for building dynasties and turning around programs. Tommy Lloyd led men’s basketball to a Final Four run and a 25-year milestone, earning Coach of the Year and a contract through 2031. Wes Johnson’s triathlon team captured back-to-back national titles, setting up a three-peat. Brent Brennan transformed football from 4 wins to bowl eligibility and a road upset, securing a new deal through 2030. Clancy Shields propelled men’s tennis to its first Elite Eight and conference title, locking in through 2029. Charita Stubbs returned volleyball to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in years and signed an extension. It’s clear: Arizona’s coaches are building for the long haul.
