Arizona Program Pairs Veterans With Trained Service Dogs

Send us a text and chime in!  A rescued dog named Riot is giving Army veteran Raychelle Salter a new layer of support as she manages the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder, thanks to a Valley program now in its fourth year of pairing veterans with trained service dogs. The match came through the Fulton Homes Operation K-9 Companion Program, a partnership between Fulton Homes, Peoria-based nonprofit Soldier's Best Friend, and radio station BIG 94.5. The program takes in rescued dogs, trains them for service work, and pairs them with military veterans living with PTSD or traumatic brain injuries.
