Arkansas State Lands All-Star Guard Layne Taylor

Arkansas State mens basketball secures a major addition to their 2026-27 roster with Layne Taylor, the 2023-24 Arkansas Democrat-Gazette All-Arkansas Preps Boys Player of the Year. This high school standout from Farmington brings impressive skills as a guard, known for his sharp playmaking and deep shooting. Taylors college career began at Central Arkansas, where he earned ASUN All-Freshman honors, and later at Murray State. Coach Pannone praises Taylors high-IQ game, three-to-one assist-to-turnover ratio, and ability to play with pace, finish strong at the rim, and space the floor. As a four-time All-State selection and third on Arkansas high school boys basketballs all-time scoring list, Taylor is expected to significantly boost the Red Wolves offense.
