Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations. U.S. Army Audiovisual Center. (ca. 1974 - 05/15/1984). Ever since the American Boy Scouts were organized, the U.S. Army has been one of its best friends and chief boosters. This, segments of audio from “The Big Picture” with John Daly as host-narrator, shows us a few of the things the Army has done for the Scouts and some of the things the Scouts have done for the Army. Some of the finest opportunities for American youth to meet and know the youth of other countries have come about through scout get togethers supported by members of our armed forces both here and abroad. One of the highlights of this film is the story of two Scouts, one an American and the other a citizen of Denmark, spending the long winter night as active members of Camp Century, the nuclear-powered military research center which the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has recently built deep under the frozen surface of Greenland.
