ARN Live Show - March 11, 2010

from Annenberg Radio News · host Heather Hope

We’re hearing a lot of chatter about Insurance overhaul legislation in D.C. But the demographic with the highest uninsured rate, young people ages 18-25, don’t seem to be part of that conversation. We spoke to members of one activist organization, CALPIRG, that aims to bolster young people’s voice in the debate at a “die-in” demonstration. We’ll also share another overlooked story. We know education cuts have hurt k-12 school, but how are the cuts affecting those school children’s parents enrolled in adult education schools. We sent a reporter to take a look at one school, and you’ll learn about an interesting catch 22 taking place. Also, you’ll hear about a scam that hit the Korean immigrant community. We’re the newscast bringing you the latest stories from your south Los Angeles community Producer: Jessica Flores, Host: Heather Hope, Live Guest: Kate Cagle (ATVN). Featuring instrumental tracks from music by Snoop Dog, Black Eyed Peas, Audioslave, Gorillaz, and Ryan Amen.
