ARN Live Show - October 12, 2010

from Annenberg Radio News · host Madeleine Scinto

We’re only a couple weeks away from elections in California. Our host spoke to a student representative from Barbara Boxer’s campaign. She says Carly Fiorina and Meg Whitman’s views are too extreme and they’ll hurt women’s rights. We also have a story about Proposition 19. Some say legalizing marijuana would allow people to drive high. Currently, there’s no technology to test how high a person is at the moment he or she is pulled over. A group of south Los Angeles students want to get more respect in the classroom. They say schools are more like prisons than supportive learning environments. We also hear about the controversial renewal of 287g/ICE program and take a trip to the South LA favorite, Earlz Grill. Producer: Stephanie Guzman, Host: Madeleine Scinto. Featuring instrumental tracks from music by Led Zeppelin, Linkin Park, Ke$ha, and Ben Thompkins.
