This week on Around the Cracker Barrel, Guy Atchley welcomes Chris Erickson, Executive Director of Valley Assistance Services, and Peggy McGee, board member and fundraising chair, for a conversation about the many ways VAS is helping individuals and families throughout Southern Arizona.Valley Assistance Services offers 18 different programs designed to help people remain financially stable, healthy, safe and independent. Services range from emergency rental and utility assistance to transportation, workforce development, health education and support programs.A big focus of the conversation is the 7th Annual Runway of Hope Fashion Show, happening Friday, August 21 at Desert Diamond Casino in Sahuarita. Doors open at 11 a.m., lunch is served at noon, followed by the fashion show featuring Ruby Jane and Sole Shoes.
