Dirigent John Eliot Gardiner si svojím perfekcionizmom, ktorý však nestráca iskru spontánnosti, vydobyl postavenie jedného z najzaujímavejších interpretov hudby 17., 18. a 19. storočia. Dnes už môžeme povedať, že prakticky celý svoj život zasvätil hudbe Johanna Sebastiana Bacha a v roku 2013 vyšla kniha, v ktorej Gardiner zúročil túto celoživotnú fascináciu Bachovou hudbou. Kniha má názov Hudba na nebeskom hrade (Music in the Castle of Heaven) a dnešná reláciu bude vlastne radom citátov z nej, popretkávaných Bachovou hudbou. Pripravil: Peter Zagar
