Art+Action Founder Amy Kisch Wants You To Come To Your Census

Amy Kisch is the founder of Art+Action Coalition. She’s working with other artists and the Yerba Buena Center to urgently get the word out about the census. She shares why it’s important for everyone to be counted. The new deadline to respond and be counted is September 30, a month sooner than the original date. The Census Bureau’s director says they’re pushing it up to make the deadline for the president to receive the data by December 31. Activists and census experts are concerned the new deadline would cause an undercount of people of color, immigrants and residents in rural areas. Which would mean less federal funding for these marginalized groups.
