Art Talk - Myra Hutton, textile artist, talk and demo
from Webcast@OU
This event will be held in CMR01 Inspired by our natural surroundings and the elements, Myra’s beautiful work consists of densely textured layers exploring colour and texture through a fusion of hand dyed fabrics, hand made felt with embellishments of thread, wire, beads and feathers. Using wool and silk fibres in a painterly way, creating blocks of vibrant colour before felting, blending and shading as she goes, Myra builds up the layers with textured embellishment using the sewing machine as a drawing tool to bring the picture alive. Myra exhibits at several galleries and goes into schools as a visiting artist and runs workshops from her studio in her gallery in Ampthill. Isn’t this wonderful? Please email me to book a place L.P.Watkinson, thanks.
