Der kürzlich verstorbene amerikanische Bildhauer Richard Serra (1939-2024) ist der wichtigste Stahlarbeiter unter den Künstlern des 20. Jahrhunderts. Seine Kennzeichen: tonnenschwere Skulpturen aus rostendem Stahl. Für mehr als 100 öffentliche Orte hat er Skulpturen geschaffen, von Philadelphia und St. Louis über São Paulo bis nach Dillingen im Saarland ("Viewpoint“ von 2006). Richard Serra hatte eine ganz besondere Beziehung zum Saarland, denn seit 1986 bezog er das Material für seine Kunstwerke von der Dillinger Hütte. Die Ausstellung im Dillinger Kunstverein zeigt schwarz-weiß Fotografien von Dirk Reinartz, Grafiken von Serra aus der Sammlung Scheidt, ein Modell von Viewpoint sowie zwei Filme über den Künstler Richard Serra. Sie ist bis zum 14.
