65-year-old Arthur Wong suffers from Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), yet he sings with his 62-year-old wife Patricia Lee and others in Silver Voices (part of Voices of Singapore or VOS). Silver Voices is an inclusive and engaging singing programme for seniors aged 60 and above. In essence, Silver Voices provides a warm and encouraging space for close to 700 seniors to come together, build friendships and share their love for music. Silver Voices uses the power of music to uplift and keep minds active as well as keep spirits high for seniors, including those living with dementia.What is Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI)? It is a condition where an individual experiences a greater decline in cognitive abilities compared to their peers of the same age. These include memory, language, judgement or thinking skills. On this podcast, listen to Arthur Wong and Patricia Lee as they share their story on being singers for Voices of Singapore.
