Artist Apryl, and Indie Artist Shar Are On Air!

Apryl and her siblings were invited to be apart of weekly gospel show in Dallas, Texas on Public Access TV in the early 80’s. Apryl continued singing and won many talents shows and competitions shows. “I started going to junior college in FT. Worth, Texas, I would sing in the hallways, and that is when I ran into a rap group that heard me sing”. Apryl was asked to record a hook for their song that was later aired on K104 radio station in Dallas, Texas. That is when the doors opened for other opportunities with other artist for Apryl to showcase her raw talent. Apryl opened for artist like Mary J Blige and many others. Apryl just didn’t just stop at singing, she wanted to learn the business side of the record industry. That is when Apryl interned for BMG and Jive records. Apryl had the opportunity to write a song for Usher it didn’t make the album but created a love to continue writing and singing. Under new management Apryl completed an EP and was given the chance to open for more artist on a national level. Apryl eventually moved back to the East Coast continuing to work in the record industry for Harry Fox, Wave Records, Dreamworks and Rawkus Record. Apryl had left the music industry due to 9/11 to give more attention to her children. Despite leaving the industry it didn’t change her love and passion to continuing singing and writing. Apryl became engaged in social work encouraging herself to walk out her own journey to healing. Apryl went back to school obtaining a BS in Criminal Justice and a master’s in psychology. Music was always at the forefront for Apryl. Apryl music speaks about her story of trauma and navigating her pain but also shares her transition for victim to victor. “I just want my music to touch others with healing and love”.
