Whim Productions, founded by Producing Artistic Director Kevin King in 2011, creates challenging, evocative theater. We focus on providing opportunities for LGBTQ theater artists to tell their own stories and share the diversity of queer experience with Kansas City audiences. We do queer theater with a Whimsical edge. Our next production is a delightfully offbeat romantic comedy by professional playwright Adam Bock titled Swimming in the Shallows. This Kansas-City-premiere production begins previews on November 8th and runs thru November 23rd. It is a hilarious exploration of some of the problems and anxieties underlying modern relationships, be they man-woman, woman-woman, or man-shark (yes, I said shark!).
