In the first half of the program, Maria talks with artist Joe Bussell and photographer Fred Trease. Belger Gallery Manager, Michael Buxley and Marketing/Community Relations Coordinator Kelly Seward talk with Maria in the second half of the program. Joe Bussell- acrylic pigments become playful sculptures in their own floating white universe, interacting to create moments of ethereal conversation. He plays between the space of paint as material/object and paint as composition/image. Bussell received his MFA from Washington University in St. Louis in Ceramics and Panting. He has exhibited throughout the United States and in Italy. He has received awards from New American Paintings, the River Market Regional Exhibition, the Juried Annual at Albrecht Kemper Museum of Art, and more. His work can be found in collections in Italy, France, Germany and New York. www.joebussell.com Fred Trease-photography is a process that allows him to understand the world.
