As winter approaches, the IHS urges parents to make sure that their kids are caught up on vaccines
Almost half of the two-year-olds within the “Indian Health Service System” currently aren’t up-to-date on their routine vaccinations. And, seven-in-10 American Indians and Alaska Natives under 18 haven’t yet received “COVID-19”-vaccines. With some healthcare-facilities already stretched to capacity this winter—due to the “triple threat” of “COVID-19”, flu, and “R-S-V”—“I-H-S” urges parents to make sure that their kids are caught up on vaccines. Doctor Loretta Christensen is its chief medical-officer—and a member of the Navajo Tribe… “As we head into colder weather and more indoor gatherings, the ‘triple threat’ of flu, ‘COVID-19’, and respiratory viruses like ‘R-S-V’ will increase. To protect our children and our communities, it’s essential to make sure that all kids get caught up on their well-child visits—and recommended vaccines [that] they may have missed. At the same time, they can also receive an annual flu-shot—and the ‘COVID-19’-vaccine or -booster. All vaccines are available for adults and children—at federal, tribal, and urban Indian sites.” To learn more, visit “i-h-s”-dot-gov—or “vaccines”-dot-gov.
