ASBL 65, Jon Harris, House Candidate, Florida District 16, April 22, 2026The American Small Business League spoke with Jon Harris, a Democrat running for Congress in Florida’s District 16.Jon is (from his website, www.JonHarrisForCongress.com) “a proud U.S. Army veteran, technology professional, husband, and father who has dedicated his life to service — both in uniform and in his community. … raised in a military family, Jon grew up with a deep respect for discipline, duty, and country [which] led him to enlist in the Army at just 20 years old, beginning a career that would span … two decades across active duty and reserve service.”“Jon lives in his district and continues to serve his nation as a Warrant Officer in the U.S. Army Reserve while working as a Senior Information Security Advisor supporting U.S. Special Operations Command.”He’s running to create “The Growth Economy,” his plan to lower costs, grow good-paying jobs, and give families in his district a fair shot at success.“Families are paying more for healthcare, housing, groceries, and insurance while wages struggle to keep up. The Growth Economy delivers measurable results: lower bills, stronger competition, and economic growth that people can actually feel at home. The American Small Business League (www.asbl.com) wants Congress to stop big businesses from getting small business contracts (small businesses would create millions of jobs with those contracts and the economy would boom). Our www.DontCheatWomen.com project wants Congress to:·        Raise from 5% to 15% the federal contract dollars that must go to women-owned small businesses. It’s not DEI or affirmative action. They own 40% of American businesses and sell what the government buys – but companies owned by men get over 95% of federal contract dollars, and that must change.·        Define a small business as 100 or less employees.·        Make the Small Business Administration prove that small business contracts go to small businesses (and give the SBA a budget and staff as big as its mission, which is to help the 99.9% of all firms in America which are small businesses).#jonharrisforcongress #americansmallbusinessleague #dontcheatwomen #federalcontracts #smallbusinesscontracts
