from Canine Culture Podcast · host Brittany Snell

Welcome back to Canine Culture Podcast! We're kicking off Season 8 with a special Ask a Trainer episode featuring three incredible trainers from The Dog Wizard: Amanda, Chrissy, and Ro. With diverse backgrounds ranging from puppy foundations to police K9s and behavioral modification, these trainers bring a powerhouse of expertise to the mic.In this episode, Brittany gathers listener-submitted questions and the trainers break down their real-world advice on:🐾 Their favorite training tools — from slip leads to e-collars — and how they use them 🐾 Helping dogs with separation anxiety and creating more independence 🐾 Managing barking at the door (hello, Amazon deliveries!) 🐾 The key to successful crate training and why it’s not mean 🐾 How to stop dogs from jumping on guests (hint: consistency is everything)Plus, hear firsthand stories about rehabilitation success, setting realistic expectations, and how obedience work lays the groundwork for solving behavioral issues. Whether you’re a new pup parent or managing a more complex case, this episode is packed with insights to help build a healthier relationship between you and your dog.-------------------------------------------------About The Dog Wizard:There are a multitude of training styles, methods, and philosophies out there, all of which have their pros and cons. Our philosophy is simple. It takes a balanced technique to create a balanced dog. As in any relationship, good communication is essential! Your relationship with your dog is likewise hinged on your ability to understand your dog, and for your dog to understand you. By establishing an effective line of communication between ourselves and our dogs, we are able to change the conversations we have with them. The goal of our training is to create happy and confident dogs who know what we need from them and are happy to be part of an improved “working” relationship with their families. We also believe that all dogs are designed to be productive and task oriented, or, in other words, they need a “job” in order to feel balanced. By engaging our dogs mentally and teaching them to process information, perform desired behaviors, and use some impulse control, we are able to give them an incredibly valuable outlet to channel their energy into being productive.-------------------------------------------------Follow The Dog Wizard:The Dog Wizard WebsiteFollow On FacebookFollow On X-------------------------------------------------Give the episode a listen on your favorite podcast platform and let us know what you think!
