Ask An Adviser: Bryce saved $900 getting personal insurance advice w/ Phil Thompson

from Equity Mates Investing Podcast

Life insurance is something most of us have in our superfunds, but I (Bryce) didn’t. So I went through the process of getting life insurance with Phil Thompson, and the results were surprising (compared to the default cover in my superfund). TL;DR - I recommend you take the time to understand your default cover in your super fund and then get a comparison quote from an advisor, because chances are you’ll be underinsured. As you’ll hear in this episode, getting insurance outside of your existing default cover doesn’t need to impact your cashflow either. Here's what we cover it this episode:My (Bryce) life goals, and why now was the time to look at life insuranceThe process I went through to get a personal quoteA detailed look at the outcome of the adviceA breakdown of the advice and how it might be applicable to youQuestions from the community about life insurance—------Have an investing question?Ask via our website and we'll answer it on the podcast.Join the conversation in the Facebook Discussion GroupOr get put in touch with a professional financial advisor by filling out this formWant more Equity Mates?Sign up to our email to keep up with business news Listen to our basics-of-investing podcast: Get Started Investing (Apple | Spotify)Watch Equity Mates on YouTubePick up our books: Get Started Investing and Don’t Stress, Just Invest—------In the spirit of reconciliation, Equity Mates Media and the hosts of Equity Mates Investing acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community.
