ASMR

from The Dark Corner Podcast · host David and Brandi Jackola

ASMR is the point in this episode of the Dark Corner Podcast. First, we break down the name. Autonomic means involuntary. Meanwhile, Sensory means perceived. Meridian suggests a pathway in the body. Finally, Response is a reaction to stimulus. That is, ASMR is an uncontrollable physical reaction to a sensation. Dave tells the history of ASMR and its beginnings on public television and whisper videos. Also, he describes the sensation of ASMR and how it is triggered. Furthermore, Dave presents examples of ASMR triggers. Additionally, Dave describes frisson. Frisson is very much like ASMR. For instance, one gets goosebumps while listening to music. Furthermore, Dave provides examples. We begin with some talk of Dungeons & Dragons. Brandi forgets what her new character can do. Meanwhile, Dave forgets how low level are the characters. Also, Matt kicks butt with a Guan Dao. We miss playing with the entire group. In news and reviews, Brandi lists guests to FanX Salt Lake Comic Convention. Next, we review Mission Impossible: Fallout. Brandi loves the action while Dave thinks it unfair to compare spy movies in too general of terms. In Comics Corner, Brandi talks about Star Trek Discovery: Succession. In a new segment, Deep Cuts, Dave reviews Tricks, the new album by ohGr. The Dark Track is Ignorance Breeds by Kelli McCarthy from her EP, Ex Tempore. She writes honest and authentic dark synth pop. This was a direct submission by the artist. We play a promo for the Good Place Podcast, a show devoted to the hit NBC sitcom. It is hosted by the wonderful actor and improviser, Marc Evan Jackson. Finally, we shout out Matt and Jon for taking over the managing duties at the Comedy Loft in Ogden. Both Matt and Jon are long time friends. They will shoulder the responsibility well.
