ASRH_Episode_4: Idealized Stories

from Assembly of Silence · host Noah Antony Widoff

In this episode we begin by discussing equilibrium and death. We then distinguish between the knowable and the unknowable and speculate about the various reasons we make up so much stuff about the latter. This leads into questions about “truth, freedom and will” versus “lies, slavery and acceptance”. We then realize the value of a good story even if it’s based upon lies. We then accidentally light something on fire, discuss why the brain lies to us, imagine how this capacity came into being, and get drawn back into a bunch of speculation about the heart’s feelings using the overlay of the mind’s thoughts. Our theme music is derived from the track “Huddled” by Peck Slip:: https://peckslip.bandcamp.com Our announcer is the fantastically resonant JD.
