Assault and harassment charges against sports radio personality Mike Missanelli withdrawn
from KYW Newsradio Audio On-Demand
Assault and harassment charges against former radio personality Mike Missanelli have been withdrawn. Missanelli was arrested in April after Lower Merion Police responded to his Wynnewood home after someone called 911 then hung up. The affidavit of probable cause says Missanelli told police he and his fiancée were in a heated argument and she struck him in the chest. She said Missanelli slapped her with an open hand. Police said she had a cut on her forehead and swelling on her ear. Missanelli was charged with second-degree misdemeanor simple assault and summary harassment. Those charges were withdrawn at Missanelli’s preliminary hearing on June 24. The Montgomery County District Attorney’s office says it always continues to investigate after charges are filed, and in this case additional info led it to make the decision to withdraw charges.
