Assumptions in Business Plans

You have heard the typical phrase about when you assume something.....When making a business plan however, assumptions are an important tool a business owner uses as they "learn" their way through the business to success. When starting a business, a business plan should be made for the first 3 to 6 months, not 3 to 6 years. The shorter the better. A section in your business plan, however, should list out the assumptions that one will prove or invalidate in that 3 to 6 months.
