Astros Battle Royals in Critical Series | Kansas City Royals News

The Astros are back home for a must-win three-game series against the Royals, desperate to snap an offensive slump that’s left them near the bottom of the AL in OBP and batting average. After a brutal sweep by Tampa Bay, Houston’s bats have been ice cold — especially Yordan Alvarez, who’s hitting just .200 with three homers in his last 109 PAs. But here’s the twist: Alvarez has torched Wacha before, going 5-for-8 with two homers, and other hitters like Walker and Vazquez also have solid histories against the Royals’ ace. Wacha himself is on fire — undefeated in seven starts with elite stuff and deep outings. Meanwhile, Hunter Brown, despite recent struggles, has shown promise against KC and is striking out batters at a high rate. If Houston can ignite their offense — especially against Wacha — they might just turn things around and keep playoff dreams alive.
