ASU Hockey Star Collapses in Workout | St. Louis News

Arizona State hockey star Matthew Mayich, a St. Louis Blues draft pick, remains hospitalized after collapsing during a grueling offseason workout — the earliest NCAA allows formal practices — with his attorney warning his condition is unlikely to improve. The workout, held under harsh conditions with minimal breaks and water access, reportedly showed warning signs before his collapse. While Arizona State claims coaches and trainers were present and the session was standard, the attorney disputes that, suggesting staff may have seen danger. The family demands an independent investigation and administrative leave for those involved, while ASU promises a full review. Mayich, 21, is focused on recovery as his family leans on community support during this devastating time. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
