Renée’s innovative work began in the early ‘80’s. Nursing programs were experiencing low retention rates. Great numbers of students were dropping out and administrators were threatening to shut down programs. Golden West College nursing program experimented with Renée’s program to see its effectiveness and were more than thrilled with the results asking Renée to be a speaker at the National League for Nurses conference on the East Coast. Following this conference, nursing programs nationally began implementing Renée’s, ‘You Are Smarter than You Think’ learning system and retention rates rose from 10% to 80%.
