At the end of your rope
from Poetry by Tim Windisch · host Tim Windisch
At the end of your rope You say that things keep moving quickly in the wrong direction All your frowning ain’t going to help with your complexion Shut down, tune out, hide away cause you don’t want to cope You’re horrified and certain that you’re at the end of your rope I’m telling you baby you don’t have to swing That rope can be used for quite another thing Looking up, give it your all and baby just climb And you’ll get to the top, and it’ll be our time The world’s gone mad, bad guy’s running unchecked Political complexity masks evil, ignorance gains respect Seems like a good time to throw your hands up, lose hope You’re flabbergasted by it all, yeah you’re at the end of your rope I’m telling you brother you don’t have to swing That rope can be used for quite another thing Looking up, give it your all, and brother just climb And you’ll get to the top, and it’ll be your time Don’t fret about the days that we haven’t met yet Sure we ain’t got a penny, up to our eyeballs in debt That ain’t no reason to get down, babe don’t let me see you mope You’re not ready to quit, even though you’re at the end of your rope I’m telling you baby, together we can swing Never mind the rope, cause we’re quite another thing Nobody said it would be easy or coasting downhill so we climb Babe we get to the top, or wherever we want and have our time Tim Windisch 08/11/2022
