At the top of my list

At the top of my list I’m hosting the family, the food and things to feed I’m too used to remembering the scant few things I need But the holiday season has given me reason despite my trying to resist Write it all down before I go into town, sugar’s at the top of my list Then there’s things that I need to get out to festively decorate Every wall, every plant so that every single guest will exasperate About how lovely it looks, the memories bring joy to each tryst As we laugh, wipe a tear, share a toast, it’s all at the top of my list And when the last guest has gone, as we clean away the dirty dishes It’s then we first feel that holiday magic as we exchange flirty wishes And there’s a magic in the air that hasn’t changed since we first kissed I’m still enamored by way you make me feel babe you’re at the top of my list In fact you’re the only thing on my list honey I love you!
