Terrell, Clemson- Multiple teams had him rated highly on their board (Oakland, NOLA, Maybe cowboys)- Need was at corner- entertained moving up. Had him  targeted from the beginning. What traits pushed him to top? 6’1 4.4 40- agility, body control “Natural ball skills”. Full package fits in well with DQ system. Outside corner-most experience (DQ)- 3 other players were looking at for 16 (maybe not CBs). No offer to mover up. Were always focused on AJ terrell for corner position. Prioritized corner. Speed length- play on top of WRS- fits cover 3 def. Round 2 (47): DI Marlon Davidson, Auburn. Went into night 2 trying to get better on interior- like versatility of both MD & Henessey . Trenches- LOS game, wanted to attack that and get better. DT play at 3rd downs first- true nickel scenario- thats where they will look to hav him rush over guards. On base- will be DE. Was shocked he was available in 2nd round when they picks. Round 3 (78): C Matt Hennessey, Temple Tough, smart- pulls at center- wide zone offensive scheme. Pair with Alex mack & grady JArret. Denver was about to trade up for him w/ jets. Round 4 (119): LB Mykal Walker, Fresno State Can run- tough- versatile- can rush and play ilb Length to play SaM. Can also play will. Round 4 (134): S Jaylinn Hawkins, Cal High energy, fits into high passions agressive football. Plays pass well-- runs well. Tom Dimitroff- mad scientist of atlanta- with his lab goggles, carefully trying to concoct a roster for Dan Quinn to go to war with in the NFC SouthDETROIT LIONSRound 1 (3): CB Jeffrey Okudah, Ohio State-Player they wanted. Simmons & Browns were up there on thier board as well. Well coached- (one of his coaches- now a boston college- has an NFL pedigree-talked to him about okudah). Round 2 (35): RB D’Andre Swift, GeorgiaGood conference, tight group of  RBs in that cluster. thinker/shorter than kerryon. Catches ball well- good route runnner- compliment each other very well. Always want a stable of backsRound 3 (67): EDGE Julian Okwara, Notre Dame- long-athletic , violent, injury he recovered from- high expectation. Brother Romeo - joins his brother, who has been in the system for a few years. Versatile- can he used a little incov. Long (pff renner fav NF) Round 3 (75): G Jonah Jackson, Ohio State Moved up from 85- had him at senior bowl- smart, nasty. Targeted since before sb- (remember they coached it). Wanted to play against the best competition- so transferred from rutgers to ohio state(university people had high level of respect) - traded a fifth to colts. Round 4 (121): G Logan Stenberg, Kentucky- Best guy on board- picked up another pcik - felt good about the player & guy. Round 5 (166): WR Quintez Cephus, WisconsinStrong player- phys- catch radius- coach bevel has a good relationship-old teammate coach  there. Was one of the guys they had circeled- disappointin combine- had a good proday- improved dramatically- big catch radius- physical player. Round 5 (172): RB Jason Huntley, New Mexico State- Speed-space player- undersized but atheltic & competitive. All shapes & sizes at RB- fast- can find a role- ty johnson competition Round 6 (197): DI John Penisini, Utah.Utah had a good defense- did the dirty work- good scheme fit- physical plays low to ground- culture fit- hard worker Run player. Round 7 (235): DI Jashon Cornell, Ohio State. More pass rusher- DE/3tech In a good defense- showed up on film making playes (compared Cornell & Pensini). UDFA- Hunter Bryant
