Atlas of County Donegal

Ireland's most beautiful county, Donegal has both a vast landscape and a fascinating past. Surprisingly for an area so rich in heritage and culture, there has been no one major work bringing together the great diversity of material written about the county’s history, landscapes and people. Until now that is. This magnificent 600 page book seeks to put Donegal on the map of contemporary Ireland. Contributors are drawn from a wide range of academic disciplines and interest as co-editor Sean Beattie tells us in the audio piece.Beautifully illustrated with full colour photographs, paintings, charts and other informative illustrations, this would make an ideal present for the Donegal enthusiast be they in Dunedin or Dunkineely. He taught political geography at University College, Cork.Seán Beattie, B.A., H.D. Ed.,M.Ed., Ph. D. is an historian and current editor of the Donegal Annual.
