ATM Unveils Vuyo Zungula for Johannesburg | Johannesburg News

Vuyo Zungula, founder and former president of the African Transformation Movement (ATM), is stepping into the mayoral race for Johannesburg, promising economic empowerment for townships and a boost for local businesses. Though he stepped down as ATM leader earlier this year, he remains active in Parliament, shaping employment and small business policy—and even played a key role in the Phala Phala impeachment probe. The ATM is making its mark across Gauteng, naming Mncedi Ndzwanana for Tshwane and Velaphi Ndaba for Ekurhuleni, signaling a serious bid to dominate major metro areas. With national parties also unveiling their candidates ahead of November 4th elections, this could be one of the most competitive local election seasons yet.
