Attack Of The 50ft. Woman (1958): The Throwaway Cash Grab Side-Hustle B-Movie That Is Still Revelant Nearly 70 Years Later!

Ben and Rob shrink themselves down to size this week to tackle a woman who did the opposite: 1958's Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, the black-and-white B-movie that proved you don't need a budget, you just need a giant papier-mâché hand and a grudge.Starring Allison Hayes as Nancy Archer, a wealthy heiress who has a close encounter, gets a lot bigger, and decides it's finally time to deal with her cheating husband Harry and his mistress Honey, Attack of the 50 Foot Woman is fifty-plus feet of scorned-wife rage wrapped in some of the most gloriously unconvincing special effects of the decade.Behind the scenes facts, the movie's "logic" (giant hand, tiny bar, you do the math), and the story of a director who liked the job so little he put a fake name on it. We'll cover who didn't make it out of this production alive, how a film this cheap and this weird somehow clawed its way to cult classic status, and exactly how those effects were pulled off with rear projection, oversized props, and a whole lot of nerve. And finally... what does it really mean?!CONSUUUME to find out all this and much, much more!PLUS we have a Patreon with EXCLUSIVE content just for you starting at less than £2 a month - Click the link below!Find us on your socials of choice at www.linktr.ee/everymovieeverpodcastGET 20% OFF CINEWORLD UNLIMITED MEMBERSHIP WITH DISCOUNT CODE: ' TEL013 ' You're Welcome!
